Friday June 5 Public school Clerical Day; no classes for students attending 3K, Pre-K, elementary schools, middle schools, K–12 schools, and standalone D75 programs.
Please make sure the staff on your student’s bus route are aware in advance of whether or not to pick up. There are likely to be other riders from schools with a different schedule than your student’s.
Each school is required to give OPT a Ridership Calendar by a certain deadline; you can request a copy.

(2) PEP will vote on changes to regulations about leadership teams by School and District (adding more student and staff participation) and to regulations about child abuse & maltreatment prevention, including that poor attendance alone does not constitute a need to report the parent/guardian. This matters to school bus families, whose children are subject to miss school due to issues beyond the family’s control.

School Bus Bill of Rights (a representative panel of affected communities to decide student transportation policy, see https://www.pistnyc.org/gallery/bill-of-rights )
and/or a City takeover of the school bus fleets. These continue in July as well.

Oversight: Artificial Intelligence, Student Data, and Privacy in NYC Public Schools
Additionally, the Committees will hear the following legislation:
Int. 684 - A Local Law in relation to requiring a study on how language access needs and geographic location affect access to early elementary gifted and talented programs
Int. 853 - A Local Law in relation to requiring a study on how language access needs, income, and geographic location affect access to special education programs and services
